Ancient Tower Reflecting History, Tianxin Pavilion Overlooking Changsha — Tianxin Pavilion

Tianxin Pavilion stands on the ancient city wall in the south of Changsha, a national 4A-level scenic spot, one of China’s Famous Historical and Cultural Towers, and a key national cultural relic protection unit. Known as “Xiaoxiang Ancient Pavilion, Famous City of Qin and Han Dynasties”, it was originally named Tianxing Pavilion, named after the “Changsha Star” in the sky. With a history of more than 400 years, the pavilion has experienced wind and rain, reconstruction and renovation, and has become the most iconic historical symbol of the ancient city of Changsha. The main pavilion is three stories high, with red beams, painted pillars, green tiles and flying eaves, showing the elegant and majestic style of Ming and Qing architecture, complementing the remaining ancient city wall.

天心阁屹立于长沙城南古城墙之上，是国家AAAA级旅游景区、中国历史文化名楼、全国重点文物保护单位，素有“潇湘古阁，秦汉名城”的美誉。楼阁原名天星阁，因对应天上“长沙星”而得名，历经四百余年风雨沧桑与多次复建修缮，是长沙古城最具标识性的历史符号。主阁高三层，朱梁画栋、碧瓦飞檐，尽显明清古建筑的典雅雄浑，与脚下残存的千年古城墙交相辉映。

Tianxin Pavilion is not only an architectural treasure, but also a witness to Changsha’s history and a carrier of Hunan culture. It was once a gathering place for literati and poets, where they chanted poems and left countless literary works. It is also an important military fortress in history, witnessing many major historical events, especially the magnificent battle of Changsha’s resistance against Japanese aggression. The ancient city wall under the pavilion, which can be traced back to the Western Han Dynasty, is the only remaining section of Changsha’s ancient city wall, recording the rise and fall of the city for more than 2,000 years, and carrying heavy historical memories and revolutionary feelings.

天心阁既是建筑瑰宝，也是长沙城的历史见证者与湖湘文脉的承载者。这里曾是文人墨客登临酬唱、吟诗作赋的风雅之地，留下无数名篇佳句；历史上亦是重要军事关隘，见证过诸多重大历史事件，尤以长沙会战的抗战烽火载入史册。阁下古城墙文脉可追溯至西汉，是长沙现存唯一的古城墙遗址，镌刻着两千余年的城市兴衰，承载着厚重的历史记忆与家国情怀。

Climbing Tianxin Pavilion, you can enjoy the panoramic view of “one tower overlooking the whole city”. Looking around, the modern high-rise buildings are lined up, and the old streets and alleys are full of smoke and fire, realizing the perfect integration of ancient charm and modern vitality. Inside the pavilion, there are cultural exhibitions, historical pictures and inscriptions, which show the evolution of Changsha’s history, regional culture and spiritual context. As a famous scenic spot integrating sightseeing, cultural experience and patriotic education, Tianxin Pavilion connects the past and present, allowing visitors to feel the thickness of history and the vitality of the city in the climbing and viewing.

登阁远眺，可尽览“一阁瞰全城”的壮阔景致，南望新城高楼林立、气象万千，北观老城街巷纵横、烟火氤氲，古韵与现代生机交融共生。阁内设文史展陈、历史图卷与碑刻楹联，系统展现长沙历史沿革、地域文化与精神脉络。天心阁集观光览胜、文化研学、爱国教育于一体，连接古今，让游人在登高望远间，触摸历史厚度，感受城市文脉，读懂长沙独有的风骨与韵味。

 

Brief Tourist Information

Ticket Policy

Day tour full-price ticket: 30 yuan per person; night tour full-price ticket: 58 yuan per person. Full-time students, seniors aged 60-64 enjoy half price with valid certificates. Minors under 14, seniors over 65, active military personnel, disabled persons are free of charge with valid certificates. The outer park square is open for free.

票务政策

日游全价票30元/人，夜游全价票58元/人；全日制在校学生、60-64周岁老年人凭有效证件享半价优惠；14周岁以下未成年人、65周岁以上老人、现役军人、残疾人凭有效证件免票。景区外围公园广场免费开放。

Reservation & Admission

Real-name ticket purchase is required. You can book tickets online through the official WeChat mini-program “Night Tour Tianxin Pavilion”, or purchase on-site via ticket machines and QR code. Enter with valid ID card.

预约入园

实行实名购票，可通过官方微信小程序“夜游天心阁”线上预约购票，也可在景区自助售票机、现场扫码购票，凭有效身份证件核验入园。

Opening Hours

Day tour: 8:00–17:00 (stop admission at 16:30); Night tour: 18:00–22:00 (stop admission at 21:30). Closed on Monday nights (except legal holidays).

开放时间

日场开放8:00-17:00，16:30停止入园；夜场开放18:00-22:00，21:30停止入园。每周一夜游闭园（法定节假日除外）。
